Bring your own agent
Your AI agent does the work. AlphaCount keeps the books, applies the rules and files with the authorities.
Many companies already work with an AI assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or an agent of their own. AlphaCount is built so that this assistant can run the bookkeeping. It reads, prepares and acts through the same functions as the app, over MCP. AlphaCount does what an assistant should not improvise: it keeps the books correct and complete, numbers and books every invoice, applies the tax rules, records who confirmed what, and transmits to the tax office.
Who does what
| Your agent | AlphaCount |
|---|---|
| talks to you, understands the task, plans the steps | keeps the ledger, the master data and the documents, as German law requires |
| reads balances, open items, documents and reports | numbers, books and archives every invoice; e-invoices in ZUGFeRD and XRechnung |
| prepares bookings, invoices, quotes and reminders | applies the rules: VAT, chart of accounts, closed periods, plausibility checks |
| asks you before anything that matters, and passes on your answer | refuses what breaks a rule, and records every change with who confirmed it |
| transmits: tax returns over ELSTER, mail from the company's own mailbox, exports for the tax advisor |
Your agent never writes to the database. Every change is an action of AlphaCount with its own checks — whether it comes from the app, from AlphaCount's built-in agent, or from yours.
What your agent can do
Around 330 actions, each with a risk level. The full list with parameters: Tools. In short:
- Invoices and quotes: draft an invoice, change or delete the draft, check the customer's master data, issue it, send it by mail, record a payment, cancel it; create, change and send a quote, mark it accepted or declined; contracts with recurring billing and usage; reminders for overdue invoices; bill a project's time.
- Documents: find receipts and invoices, read what was extracted, correct it, book it, link it to a payment, have it read again; letters from the tax office, with a draft reply.
- Bank and cash: match payments to invoices and receipts, book a payment without a receipt, the cash book.
- Bookkeeping: bookings and reversals, open reviews, the profit and loss statement, the balance sheet, the BWA, the forecast, analyses.
- Customers, suppliers, products and their accounts.
- Taxes: prepare, validate and transmit returns over ELSTER — VAT return and the others — and the questionnaire for the owner's income tax return.
- Payroll: employees, their contracts and pay components, the monthly run, wage tax filings.
Examples:
- "Write an invoice to Müller GmbH for 12 hours of consulting at 120 € and send it."
- "Make a quote for the website relaunch, 4,800 € net, valid for 30 days, and send it to Anna Becker."
- "Which invoices are overdue? Send a first reminder for those older than 14 days."
- "Book the open receipts of this month like last month, and show me what you were unsure about."
- "Is the VAT return for September ready? Then transmit it."
How you confirm
Reading needs no confirmation. For a change that matters — a booking, master data, an invoice that is issued or sent, a tax return — AlphaCount stops and returns an approval request: what will happen and with which values. Your agent shows it to you and passes on your decision. AlphaCount checks that a decision was given and records it with the action; the step cannot be skipped. Details: Security and approvals.
Not yet possible
- Sending a file from your agent. No tool takes a file's content yet. A receipt or invoice reaches AlphaCount by mail to the company's document inbox — your agent can ask for the address — or by upload in the app. From there your agent can work with it.
- claude.ai, Claude Desktop and ChatGPT. They sign in with OAuth, which comes next. Until then use Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code — Connect.
- A few functions of the app have no action yet, among them invoice and reminder templates and importing customers and products from a file. They are being added; until then they are in the app.
